Applying Modeling & Simulation for Reengineering Puproses at a Rolled Aluminium Manufacturer (ELVAL)

Research project REALMS (ReEngineering AppLication Integrating Modelling and Simulation) and REALMS II in the framework of esprit implemented projects in the Field of Technologies for Business Processes, in collaboration with the German Steel Products Production Company BSW, the Greek Aluminium Industry (ELVAL), the German Consulting Company Siemens Nixdorf, the Technical University of Karlsruhe and the University of Bordeaux. The scope of the project was the reorganization of production processes to improve production efficiency, which was supported by the adoption of information technologies by utilizing methodological tools such as Discrete Event Simulation and Business Process Reengineering.
